*     Application procedures
Spanish university studies

Universities will apply the following general criteria when adapting or validating courses taken in Spanish institutions:

1.- Between studies toward the same official degree the following may be adapted:

* In any case, the entire group of lower level courses in university programmes comprising lower level and upper level courses.

* Core courses that were passed in the institution of origin.

* When not all core courses have been passed in the institutions of origin, courses whose content and number of class hours are equivalent may be adapted.

* In the case of mandatory or optional university courses, they may be adapted to courses whose content and number of class hours are equivalent.

* Adapted courses will be entered as such in the student’s academic record at the new university which, when preparing an academic certificate, should list the courses or subjects that have been adapted and at the request of the student issue a report of the marks shown on the official document from the university of origin.

* Elective credits taken by the student at the university of origin shall likewise be adapted.

* As a general rule, students shall not enrol in the same courses that they have had validated or adapted.

2.- In studies toward different official degrees, those courses whose content and number of class hours are equivalent are subject to being validated for credit.

The courses validated after 12th September 2004, will count the number of points corresponding to the mark obtained in the Centre of origin and the credits that are not graded numerically will not be taken into account when taking the average.
